This study investigated the effect of antidepressant medications on glucose regulation and type 2 diabetes risk. Researchers conducted a meticulous meta-analysis on data extracted from 22 studies. 

Researchers discovered that the use of antidepressant drugs impaired glucose control and promoted the development of type 2 diabetes. Evidence from this study indicate that antidepressant medications may increase an individual's susceptibility to type 2 diabetes.
