Inflammatory potential of diet and mortality in Australian adults
Choosing a pro-inflammatory diet may increase an individual's chances of dying from cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other causes.
This study explored the correlation between adhering to a pro-inflammatory diet and the risk of suffering from early death. Researchers monitored the dietary and mortality records of 1,440 Australian adults.
Researchers noticed a high death toll from cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other causes among participants at the top of the pro-inflammatory consumption ladder. In contrast, subscribing to an anti-inflammatory diet was found to lower mortality rates in this study. "Our results support the promotion of anti-inflammatory diets to help promote longevity," the study authors concluded.
