Heavy Lifetime Cannabis Use and Mortality by Sex
Regular usage of cannabis may lead to early death in men and women.
This study focused on the relationship between long-term intake of cannabis and the risk of dying prematurely. Researchers examined the level of usage of cannabis and the number of deaths recorded among 121,895 men and women over an 11-year period.
Researchers discovered that the probability of dying from cancer, cardiovascular ailments, and other chronic diseases was high among frequent users of cannabis. This study demonstrated that cannabis use may shorten the lifespan of men and women.
