Frequent consumption of nuts may significantly cut down cardiovascular disease and total mortality risk.

This study assessed the correlation between nut consumption and the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and all-cause mortality by meta-analysis. Twenty prospective studies that examined 467,389 subjects were included in this meta-analysis. Researchers discovered that subjects with high nut intake had slight chances of developing cardiovascular disease, such as coronary heart disease (CHD) and low total mortality risk. The results of this study reveal that decreased risk of cardiovascular disease and total mortality is associated with regular consumption of nuts.
