A Plant-Based Diet, Atherogenesis, and Coronary Artery Disease Prevention

Adherence to a plant-based dietary lifestyle may significantly cut down atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease (CAD) risk.

This study examined the role of plant-based diets in the prevention of atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease (CAD). Researchers reviewed data obtained from several studies.

The research team observed a protective association between plant-based diets and atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease. In contrast, meat consumers were found to have greater risk of developing atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease. The results of this study show that diets rich in meat may promote the development of atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease.
