The Dietary Inflammatory Index Is Associated with Prostate Cancer Risk in French Middle-Aged Adults in a Prospective Study
High dietary ingestion of pro-inflammatory foods may set the stage for the development of prostate cancer in middle-aged men.
This study set out to unravel the connection between the intake of pro-inflammatory foods and the formation and growth of cancerous cells and tumor in the prostate gland of men. Researchers compared the type of foods eaten by 123 men suffering from prostate cancer with the diets of 2,648 middle-aged men without the disease.
Researchers observed that pro-inflammatory foods accounted for a large percentage of the diets of men diagnosed with prostate cancer. This study pointed out that fondness for pro-inflammatory foods may spur the development of prostate cancer in middle-aged men.
