Healthy Plant Foods Intake Could Protect Against Prostate Cancer Risk: A Case-Control Study.

Adhering to a diet high in healthy plant foods, such as fruits and vegetables, may help prevent the development of prostate cancer.

This study investigated the hypothesis that following a dietary pattern that promote regular ingestion of healthy plant foods can protect against the development of prostate cancer. Researchers tracked the diets of 120 subjects and estimated the prostate cancer odds ratios of all the participants in this study.

Researchers found a protective association between consistent consumption of healthy plant foods, such as fruits and vegetables, and the risk of developing prostate cancer. The findings of this study indicate that following a plant based diet may be an important part of a dietary approach for the prevention of prostate cancer.
