Increased dietary exposure to nutrients in fruits and vegetables may help to curb the onset of pancreatic cancer.

This study assessed pancreatic cancer risk based on the level of consumption of fruits and vegetables. Researchers analyzed the diets of 384 persons with confirmed diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and 983 individuals without the disease.

Researchers observed that greater intake of fruits and vegetables correlated with higher chances of preventing pancreatic cancer. "We conclude that most nutrients obtained through consumption of fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of developing pancreatic cancer," the researchers wrote.
