Phytosterol intake and overall survival in newly diagnosed ovarian cancer patients: An ambispective cohort study
Upping the frequency of consumption of phytosterol from food sources may increase survival rates in women suffering from ovarian cancer.
This study threw more light on the association between high dietary ingestion of phytosterol-containing foods and a woman's likelihood of surviving ovarian cancer. Researchers monitored the dietary and mortality records of 703 women diagnosed with ovarian cancer for a period of 37 months.
Researchers found out that the number of deaths recorded from ovarian cancer was low among women who regularly ate foods rich in phytosterol. This study demonstrated that devout consumptions of foods heavy on phytosterol may improve a woman's chances of surviving ovarian cancer.
