Dietary inflammatory index and the risk of esophageal cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Greater consumption of pro-inflammatory foods may confer an individual with higher risk of esophageal cancer.
This study explored the correlation between habitual intake of pro-inflammatory foods and esophageal cancer risk. Researchers performed a meticulous meta-analysis on data extracted from 13 studies.
Researchers observed that pro-inflammatory food eaters exhibited a high tendency of being diagnosed with esophageal cancer. This meta-analysis identified a pro-inflammatory diet as one of the potent risk factors for esophageal cancer.
