Increased intake of diets high in soy foods may reduce lung cancer risk.

This study investigated the relationship between the consumption of soy foods and the incidence of lung cancer. Researchers analyzed dietary and clinical data obtained from 11 epidemiologic studies. They found out that high intake of soy foods diminished the odds of developing lung cancer. This lung cancer preventive effect of soy foods was found to be more effective in women, non-smokers, and Asians. The findings of this meta-analysis suggest that low lung cancer risk is associated with regular consumers of soy foods.
