A high-fiber diet may help prevent the formation, growth, and spread of cancerous cells and tumors in the larynx.

This study assessed how high dietary intake of fiber influences the risk of developing laryngeal cancer. With the aid of validated food frequency questionnaire, researchers collated and reviewed data on the fiber intake of 1,824 men and women. The laryngeal cancer odds ratios of all the participants in this study were also determined.

Researchers observed that the greater the frequency of consumption of fiber from food sources, such as fruits, vegetables, and grains, the higher the chances of avoiding laryngeal cancer. Data from this study indicate that high intake of fiber-rich foods may offer significant protection against laryngeal cancer.
