Cruciferous vegetable consumption and multiple health outcomes: an umbrella review of 41 systematic reviews and meta-analyses of 303 observational studies

Upping our cruciferous vegetable intake levels may help knock our chances of suffering from cancer of the lungs, stomach, and endometrium and premature death.

This meta-analysis synthesized evidence from 303 studies that examined the effect of dietary intake of cruciferous vegetables on the risk of being diagnosed with several chronic diseases. Researchers reviewed dietary and health records of more than 13 million individuals.

Researchers discovered regular consumers of cruciferous vegetables enjoyed a significant reduction in total mortality, lung, gastric (stomach), and endometrial cancer risk. The results of this study support devout consumption of cruciferous vegetables as a viable preventive measure against premature death and cancer of the lungs, stomach, and endometrium.
