Dried Fruit Intake and Cancer: A Systematic Review of Observational Studies

Habitual intake of dried fruits may strengthen an individual's defenses against cancer.

This meta-analysis synthesized evidence from previously published studies that investigated the relationship between dietary ingestion of dried fruits and the likelihood of developing cancer. Researchers compiled data and evidence from 16 studies.

The team of researchers found out that consistent consumption of dried fruits significantly decreased cancer development and mortality risk. According to this study, the cancer-preventive effect of dried fruits was comparable with that of raw fruits. The data from this study suggest that individuals who want to cut down their chances of having cancer should incorporate more dried fruits into their diet.
