Soluble and Insoluble Dietary Fiber Consumption and Colorectal Cancer Risk: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Devout consumption of foods loaded with fiber may help inhibit the formation, growth, and spread of cancerous cells in the colon and rectum.

This study was conducted to ascertain the protective effects of high fiber diet against colorectal cancer. Researchers performed an in-depth and meticulous meta-analysis on data and evidence drawn out from eligible studies.

Researchers observed that the greater the frequency and duration of consumption of fiber-containing foods, the better protected an individual is from colorectal cancer. This study provides robust evidence that following a diet that encourages the intake of foods rich in fiber may help to ward off colorectal cancer.
