Phytochemically rich dietary components and the risk of colorectal cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies
Cultivating the habit of consuming foods loaded with phytochemicals may be vital for fending off colorectal cancer in men and women.
This meta-analysis explored the intake of phytochemical-rich foods in relation to colorectal cancer prevention. Researchers sifted through data obtained from 46 studies.
Researchers discovered that upping the rate of consumption of phytochemical-containing foods, such as tomatoes, garlic, citrus fruits, and cruciferous vegetables, suppressed colorectal cancer risk dramatically. This meta-analysis offered proof that the odds of avoiding a diagnosis of colorectal cancer may be tilted in favor of consumers of diets high in foods packed with phytochemicals
