Egg consumption and cancer of the colon and rectum.

Individuals who consistently consume large amounts of eggs are highly vulnerable to colon, rectal, and colorectal cancer.

This research work was carried out to determine the relationship between egg consumption and colorectal cancer risk. Researchers conducted a meticulous meta-analysis on data obtained from 15 cohort and case-control studies.

Researchers observed that regular consumers of egg had high odds of developing cancer colon, rectal, and colorectal cancer. The carcinogenic effect of egg was found to be stronger in females than in male and in the proximal colon than in the distal colon. The findings of this meta-analysis reveal that generous intake of eggs may promote the development of cancerous cells in the colon and rectum.
