Frequent consumption of carrots may reduce the likelihood of developing urothelial cancer.

The aim of this study was to investigate whether an association exists between carrot intake and urothelial cancer risk in epidemiological studies. A group of Chinese researchers conducted a meticulous meta-analysis on data and evidence obtained from 2 cohort and 4 case-control studies.

The Chinese researchers observed that subjects with high intake of carrots exhibited lower risk of developing urothelial cancer than individuals who rarely ate or completely avoided the consumption of carrots. Data from this study suggest that increased dietary ingestion of carrots may help boost an individual's defenses against the development of urothelial cancer.
