The dietary phytochemical index and its relation to polycystic ovary syndrome: a case-control study
Adequate intake of phytochemical-containing foods may help guard against the development of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in women.
This study was carried out to confirm the protective effect exerted by phytochemical-rich foods against the occurrence of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in women. The study population included 480 women with PCOS and another 480 females without a history of this condition.
Researchers noticed that women on diets packed with phytochemical-containing foods had low tendency to develop PCOS. This study suggested that women who want to lower their odds of having PCOS should add more phytochemical-rich foods to their diets.
