Effect of carrot intake in the prevention of gastric cancer: a meta-analysis.

Adequate intake of carrot may help guard against the development of stomach cancer.

This study examined the relationship between the consumption of carrot and the development of gastric (stomach) cancer. Researchers reviewed data and evidence extracted from 5 studies.

Researchers observed that regular consumers of carrot had slim chances of developing stomach cancer. High intake of carrot was found to cut down the risk of gastric cancer by 26% in this study. The findings of this study reveal that frequent consumption of carrot may play a major role in the prevention of gastric cancer.
