Intake of dairy foods and risk of Parkinson disease.

Consistent consumption of dairy foods may increase an individual's odds of developing Parkinson disease.

This study evaluated the relationship between dairy product intake and Parkinson disease risk in men and women. A team of researchers from Harvard Medical School reviewed the dietary data of 129,346 men and women and also assessed the Parkinson disease odds ratios of all the participants in this study.

Researchers observed that subjects with high intake of dairy foods demonstrated a modest increase in Parkinson disease risk. The results of this study suggest that higher consumption of dairy products is associated with a greater Parkinson disease risk in both men and women.
