Cathy Fisher not only lives and breathes the plant-based lifestyle but she is also helping others to make the transition to a whole food plant-based diet smooth and delicious. Her amazing talent in creating nutritious and tasty vegan recipes has helped many people to enjoy delicious and nutritious foods while also enjoying improved health. Her recipes have been featured in numerous books and websites, including A Plant-Based Life by Micaela Cook; Nutrition CHAMPS by Jill Nussinow M.S,R.D, Color Me Vegan by Colleen Patrick Goudreau and The Campbell Plan by Thomas Campbell, M.D, co-author of The China Study, DrMcDougall.com, Engine2Diet.com and ForksOverKnives.com.

Before her sojourn into the world of whole food plant based nutrition, Cathy Fisher was, like so many of us, an avid consumer of animal products and processed foods. And, like most people on diets centered around animal-based products, she also had her fair share of diseases associated with unhealthy dietary habits. At the age of 13, she was twice diagnosed with pneumonia. In addition, she also suffered from colds, earaches, sore throats, and stomach aches on a regular recurring basis.

Adopting the plant-based lifestyle opened an exciting new chapter in Cathy's life. She experienced tremendous improvements in her health and general well-being such as better digestion, good-looking skin, and the maintenance of a healthy weight. Since removing animal foods from her diet, Cathy has not suffered additional health challenges or needed to take medications. Her health problems became a thing of the past once she stopped consuming meat and dairy products.

Being a woman with a kind and caring heart, she also wants everyone possible to enjoy the health improvements she currently enjoys courtesy of her decision to follow a whole-food plant-based dietary lifestyle. This is why Cathy Fisher is spreading the message of plant-based nutrition with her cookbook Straight Up Food, her blog straightupfood.com and her cooking classes at TrueNorth Health Center and the McDougall Program in Santa Rosa, California. She also writes for Health Science, the member magazine for the National Health Association.

Plant-based eating has helped Cathy Fisher to live a healthier and happier life. Her cookbook Straight Up Foods features plenty of healthful and delicious plant-based recipes completely devoid of salt, sugar, and oil. Her wonderful cookbook can help you inject fresh perspective into old worn out recipes or inspire new food combinations. We love her simple, healthful style. We think you will too.
