Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead

Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead

Overweight, loaded up on steroids and suffering from a debilitating autoimmune disease, Joe was at the end of his rope and the end of his hope. With doctors and conventional medicine unable to help, Joe traded in junk food and hit the road with a juicer and generator in tow, vowing only to drink fresh fruit and vegetable juice for 60 days. Across 3,000 miles Joe had one goal in mind: to get off his pills and achieve a balanced lifestyle. This is a great film to demonstrate how quickly the human body can heal of diseases.

The movie would have been OK but not fantastic except that by a stroke of good fortune a morbidly obese truck driver who Joe had met along they way called asking if it was too late to ask for some help. The filming had already finished but Joe returned to the USA, from Australia, and filming commenced again.  Now there were two intensely interesting story lines to follow.

The very last moments of themovie is where it is made clear that the plant-based diet is the key to success in the long run and not the juicing.  Some people did not give the movie very good ratings but it really is very encouraging.
