The Effect of Vitamins on Glaucoma: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Habitual intake of foods rich in vitamin A and C may help slash the risk of glaucoma.

The aim of this meta-analysis was to investigate the relationship between dietary exposure to vitamins and the likelihood of suffering from glaucoma. Researchers reviewed data and evidence drawn out from 36 studies.

The team of investigators discovered that high dietary ingestion of foods rich in vitamin A and C lowered the risk of open-angle glaucoma. Evidence from this study indicate that generous consumption of foods containing vitamin A and C may help to fend off glaucoma.
