Which Beans Contain the Most Antioxidants?

Beans have sustained a multitude of different cultures for many centuries and have been been called “the cornerstone of every longevity diet in the world." Due to their many health benefits, beans are an essential component of a whole-food, low-fat, plant-based diet. Beans are not only an excellent source of protein, complex carbohydrates, fiber, calcium, and iron, they are packed with powerful disease-fighting antioxidants, micronutrients and vitamins and minerals. However, according to the research conducted by Dr. Michael Greger, there are four beans in particular that exceed the others in regards to their antioxidant levels. Black beans came out in first place and were labeled as having the most "power-packed antioxidant legume on the planet" followed by lentils, kidney beans, and pinto beans.
