Evaluating the Relationship between Inflammatory Load of a Diet and Depression in Young Adults

Indulgence in pro-inflammatory foods may trigger the onset of depression in young females.

This research work explored the association between frequent dietary exposure to pro-inflammatory foods and the probability of depressive symptoms occurring in young adults. Researchers studied 134 female university students with regards to their dietary choices and the occurrence of depressive symptoms. 

Researchers noted that devout consumers of pro-inflammatory foods had high propensity to suffer from symptoms of depression. This study pointed out that depression is likely to affect young females fond of eating pro-inflammatory foods.
