Tobacco smoking and the risk of gallbladder disease.

​Cigarette smoking could spur the development of gallbladder disease.

This study evaluated tobacco smoking in relation to the development of gallbladder diseases, such as gallstones. Researchers pooled data from 10 prospective studies that enrolled more than 50,000 gallbladder disease patients.

Researchers observed that cigarette smokers exhibited a high risk of developing gallbladder disease.The findings of this study reveal that cigarette smoking may increase an individual's susceptibility to gallbladder disease.
