The Link Between Cigarette Smoking and Erectile Dysfunction: A Systematic Review.

Cigarette smokers may have a high predisposition to suffer from erectile dysfunction.

The aim of this study was to review previously published studies on the effect of cigarette smoking on the risk of suffering erectile dysfunction. Researchers reviewed eligible studies published between January 1998 and October 2014.

Researchers discovered that smoking promoted the development of erectile dysfunction. On the other hand, cessation of smoking was found to have a positive effect on the restoration of erectile function in this study. The results of this study suggest that cigarette smoking may facilitate the onset of erectile dysfunction.
