Decreased coronary heart disease risk is associated with high consumption of whole grains.

This research work was carried out to determine the relationship between whole grain intake and coronary heart disease risk (CHD). Researchers analyzed data and evidence obtained from 15 cohort and 3 case-control studies. They discovered that high intake of diets rich in whole grains reduced the risk of developing coronary heart disease. The findings of this meta-analysis reveal that regular consumption of whole grains may exert protective effects against coronary heart disease.
