Meta-analysis of relation between cigarette smoking and stroke.

​Active and former cigarette smokers may be highly vulnerable to stroke.

This study examined the correlation between cigarette smoking and the risk of having stroke using a meta-analytic approach. Data extracted from 32 studies were analyzed for this study.

Researchers found out that both former and active smokers were more likely to suffer from stroke than never smokers. Evidence from this study indicate that cigarette smoking may contribute to the development of stroke.
