Generous intake of diets rich in fatty foods, such as milk and meat products, may have a negative effect on semen quality.

The aim of this study was to determine the association between diet and semen quality. Using validated food frequency questionnaires, researchers examined the diets of 61 fertile and infertile men. The semen quality of each of the participant in this study was also evaluated.

Researchers discovered that men who regularly consumed fruits and vegetables, such as lettuces, tomatoes, apricots, and peaches, had high semen quality. On the other hand, poor semen quality was found among high consumers of fatty foods, such as milk and meat products. The results of this study show that increased consumption of diets high in fruits and vegetables may help improve the quality of semen in males.
