​A high-fiber diet may reduce an individual's risk of developing and dying from stroke, heart disease, and cardiovascular disorders.

This scientific research work studied the association between high intake of dietary fiber and cardiovascular disease development and mortality risk by means of a meta-analysis. A total of 31 studies were eligible for this meta-analysis.

Researchers found an inverse association between the frequency of dietary fiber consumption and the risk of suffering from stroke, coronary heart disease, and cardiovascular disease-related deaths. The results of this study demonstrate that regular ingestion of fiber-rich foods may improve an individual's chances of preventing the occurrence and mortality from stroke, coronary heart disease, and cardiovascular ailments.
