High consumption of cruciferous vegetables may cut down ovarian cancer risk.

This study examined the effect of regular intake of cruciferous vegetables on ovarian cancer risk. Researchers analyzed nutritional and clinical data extracted from 11 independent studies involving 4,306 ovarian cancer patients and 375,562 healthy subjects. They observed that consistent consumption of cruciferous vegetables decreased ovarian cancer risk. The findings of this meta-analysis indicate that generous intake of diets high in cruciferous vegetables may prevent the development of cancerous cells on the ovary.
