Cholesterol consumption and risk of endometrial cancer: a systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis of observational studies.

​Generous consumption of foods rich in cholesterol may increase endometrial cancer risk.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between high dietary ingestion of cholesterol-rich foods and endometrial cancer development risk by meta-analysis. A total of 10 studies were included in this meta-analysis.

Researchers observed subjects with high intake of foods high in cholesterol were at most risk of developing endometrial cancer. Regular consumption of 100 mg of cholesterol per day was found to increase endometrial cancer risk by 6% in this study. The findings of this study suggest that diets loaded with cholesterol-containing foods may increase a woman's susceptibility to endometrial cancer.
